Application Deadline
International applicants apply through uni-assist, not directly to TU Chemnitz. The deadline is 15 July for the winter term and 15 January for the summer term, and all documents — including any supplementary ones — must be with uni-assist by that date or the application is rejected. Applications open on 1 April for the winter term and 1 October for the summer term, and a maximum of two programme choices may be submitted. International applicants from EU/EEA countries and Switzerland applying to non-restricted programmes get an extension to 31 August (winter) / 28 February (summer); that extension does not apply to anyone who first has to attend a Studienkolleg or a German language course. Applicants whose school-leaving certificate is not equivalent to the German Abitur must first pass the Feststellungsprüfung at a Studienkolleg — TU Chemnitz does not run one itself and refers applicants to Studienkolleg Sachsen in Leipzig, which needs German at B2 to enter.
