Applications for a study place from holders of a foreign school-leaving certificate open on 1 May and close on 15 August for the winter semester, and open on 1 December and close on 15 January for the summer semester. This is the application for a place; a separate, later admission period is when you enrol in person at the Registrar’s Office (6 July to 5 September 2026 for winter semester 2026/27, 11 January to 5 February 2027 for summer semester 2027). TU Graz warns that processing can take weeks to months, that it cannot confirm receipt of individual applications, that applications arriving after the deadline are held over to a later semester, and that under §60(6) of the Austrian Universities Act an application submitted through an agency will be rejected — it must come from the applicant. Applicants holding a German-language school-leaving certificate from Germany, South Tyrol, Luxembourg or Liechtenstein, and graduates of Austrian schools abroad, skip this application entirely.
