IELTS Academic 6.5, 6.0 in each band. Duolingo English Test 120, 100 in each subscore. TOEFL iBT (Before January 2026) 90, 21 in each section. TOEFL iBT (After January 2026) 4.5, 4.0 in each section.

A-Level: Grade C in two laboratory-science subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Physics/Chemistry, Geography, Computer Science or Applied Mathematics (Agricultural Science being phased out from 2027 entry). IB: HL or SL Grade 5 Mathematics (the page notes this rises to HL Grade 6 for admission in 2027) plus HL Grade 5 in two of the same subject list. Band B (Standard Entry) English requirement applies. Students specialise into Physics, Physics and Astrophysics or Nanoscience from third year -- entry is only ever to TR063 Physical Sciences; Nanoscience can also be reached via TR061 Chemical Sciences, and Theoretical Physics (TR035) is a separate, direct-entry degree.
