Application Deadline IUPS runs one intake per year: applications open each December for undergraduate enrollment the following April (with a compulsory 6-month Japanese-language term starting that October in between). The most recently published cycle's window (1 December 2025 – 9 January 2026, for April 2027 enrollment) has already closed as of writing — check IUPS's own News page for the next cycle's exact dates, normally posted around September the year before.

ELIGIBILITY

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirement

Entrance examinations for Physics are conducted in English. Basic Japanese proficiency (JLPT N3 level) is required at the time of application — IUPS is a partly English, partly Japanese programme (see the teaching language), not an English-only one, and this Japanese bar is a genuine eligibility requirement, not a recommendation. No separate English test score (IELTS/TOEFL) is published as a requirement on IUPS's own admissions pages.
