IELTS 6, 6.0 – Writing; 5.5 – Listening, Speaking, Reading.

Regular Admission (the standard route, stated by NU to apply equally to all applicants regardless of citizenship) requires either a GPA of at least 4.0 out of 5.0 (other scales converted to a 5.0 scale) or, for applicants sitting Kazakhstan's Unified National Test (UNT) in English, minimum scores of 8/10 in Mathematical literacy, 8/10 in Reading literacy, and 85 overall. NU's currently published Regular Admission requirements table lists only the English-proficiency test and this GPA/UNT criterion — no SAT/ACT or other standardized admissions test appears there. SAT/ACT are referenced elsewhere on NU's site only for the separate fee-paying Mid-Year Intake and Transfer Student categories, which are not the main undergraduate entry route.
