Materials Engineering

IELTS Academic 6.5, minimum of 6.0 in each of the four components (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening).

This is an above-Level-1 specialization: all students in McMaster's undergraduate engineering programme share a common first year (Engineering 1) covering the fundamentals of engineering disciplines, and Materials Engineering is declared as the focus discipline from second year onward, subject to McMaster's Level 1-to-Level 2 program-selection process. For direct international entry into Engineering 1 itself, McMaster's general international curriculum bar applies: a minimum of five subjects including three distinct GCE Advanced Level (A2) or International A-Level subjects (all math/science prerequisites at A2 level) and two GCSE/IGCSE/O-Level subjects, with a minimum overall average of 80% -- McMaster states admission is competitive and many programs require averages well above 80%.
