Requires a Bachelor's degree (or similar Diploma) in natural or engineering sciences or a similar field, from a German university or a properly accredited foreign institution, with a final grade at least equivalent to the German grade 'good', covering at least 180 ECTS credits and at least six theoretical semesters, plus a practical semester or industrial internship of at least 18 weeks and a minimum of 10 ECTS in physics. Both a German language certificate at CEFR A2 and English language skills at CEFR B2 must be proven, even though the programme itself is taught in English -- German A2 unlocks a wider choice of elective modules and industry placements for the project study and Master's thesis. Applicants who do not meet the grade requirement must instead pass a 20-30 minute oral entrance examination held by two full professors.
