Minimum five subjects, three of which must be at GCE Advanced Level (excluding General Paper) and two at GCSE/IGCSE level; competitive Advanced Level grades are "B" or higher and GCSE/IGCSE grades "C"/4 or higher. Programme-specific subject requirements, quoted in this field's provenance: Chemical Engineering (QEH) direct-entry requires English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics, with Mathematics and either Chemistry or Physics at Advanced Level. Chemical Engineering is also reachable via Smith Engineering's common core (QE) -- apply to general engineering and the discipline is guaranteed at the end of first year -- which carries the same subject bar.
