Minimum five subjects, three of which must be at GCE Advanced Level (excluding General Paper) and two at GCSE/IGCSE level; competitive Advanced Level grades are "B" or higher and GCSE/IGCSE grades "C"/4 or higher. Programme-specific subject requirements, quoted in this field's provenance: Civil Engineering (QEV) direct-entry requires English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics, with Mathematics and either Chemistry or Physics at Advanced Level. Civil Engineering is also reachable via Smith Engineering's common core (QE), guaranteed at the end of first year, which carries the same subject bar.
