1 February for international applicants (other than exchange students) to undergraduate study, and the same date is the deadline for supporting documents — UI states it must have received certified academic transcripts and previous degree diplomas no later than 1 February. The application period opens around mid-December. Note how much earlier this is than the domestic route: Icelandic and Nordic citizens applying for undergraduate study have until 5 June. UI also warns on the same page that all students must be physically present in Iceland no later than 27 August 2026 or their admission is cancelled, and that non-EEA/EFTA citizens are unlikely to be able to take the spring-semester intake at all because the Directorate of Immigration requires residence-permit applications by 1 November.
